Job Description
The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live, work, and connect with their community.
We all have our own vision for the way we want to live our lives. For a person with an intellectual or developmental disability, that vision is documented in their Person-Centered Plan (PCP). A PCP outlines an individual’s goals, preferences, and support needs—serving as a roadmap to help them live a life that reflects their values and choices. At The Arc, we recognize the importance of these plans and work to ensure that we create support to match the unique goals of each person.
The Support Coordination Manager will manage and facilitate the person-centered planning and related activities for assigned department(s). The Support Coordination Manager will train and coach Support Coordinators in the assigned department(s). The goal of this position is to support persons served to achieve their vision for themselves and support team members at every level in the facilitation of this empowerment. The Support Coordination Manager is a cross organization, collaborative, systems focused position to support the assigned department(s). This position must meet all the qualifications of a Direct Support Professional.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a passionate and strategic leader who brings deep experience in person-centered planning and a strong commitment to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live self-directed lives. They excel at managing complex systems, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and coaching teams to deliver high-quality, individualized support. This person is a confident facilitator, an advocate for self-determination, and a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a mission-driven environment focused on outcomes, compliance, and continuous improvement.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED with at least three years of professional experience providing person centered planning for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, though a bachelor’s in social work or a related field is a plus. Candidates must also possess a valid driver’s license with no egregious records and complete all required Arc and Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) trainings, becoming trained as a Certified Medication Technician.
