Team Leader Commercial & Corporate Facilities

Job Description

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live, work, and connect with their community.

Facilities Management plays a crucial role in ensuring that Chesapeake Community Development’s commercial and corporate properties remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. By overseeing maintenance operations, conducting inspections, and managing vendor relationships, this role directly supports the organization’s ability to serve both internal teams and external tenants. Facilities Management ensures that facilities operate efficiently, minimizing disruptions and maximizing the longevity of the properties.

The Team Leader, Commercial & Corporate Facilities, is responsible for coordinating maintenance operations across Chesapeake Community Development’s commercial and corporate properties. This includes overseeing a team of Maintenance Technicians, ensuring timely and high-quality resolution of service tickets, conducting inspections, managing vendor relationships, and supporting facility-related projects. The role combines technical knowledge with project coordination and customer service to ensure safe, functional, and well-maintained commercial and corporate facilities that support organizational goals and external tenants.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in property maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. They should have experience leading maintenance teams, managing preventive maintenance schedules, and coordinating vendor contracts. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to provide excellent customer service and respond effectively to emergency maintenance issues.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of experience as a Maintenance Technician, and one year of experience coaching or mentoring other Maintenance Technicians. Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and general handyman tasks is required. A valid Maryland Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record is also necessary.
