Social distancing – though necessary – is disruptive to routines and can result in people feeling lonely and disconnected. The measures being implemented to keep our community safe are disruptive to routines and social interaction; the people we support will need help adapting to these changes. Thanks to a grant from The Arc Maryland and the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council, The Arc Central Chesapeake Region will be purchasing 6 iPads to help people we support to stay connected with the community and their loved ones.
Everyone is exploring how technology can keep us engaged, connected and support mental wellbeing in this period of isolation – we are committed to ensuring that people with disabilities have that same opportunity.
